| | | Iworld was started in 2000, funded by venture capitalists SoftBank and WorldView Technology Partners. The Company has its roots in managed net-security space, but has since branched into providing connectivity and access. Some of IWorld’s key customer accounts included Overseas Union Bank, Palm Computing, and Tyco International. | Iworld buys Internet bandwidth wholesale from the very competitive world market at relatively low rates. In addition, the TAS Act protects and ensures Iworld a level playing field against incumbents. Furthermore, Iworld operates a newer, cheaper and more reliable network infrastructure that allows us to be lean and cost efficient. Iworld does not inflate prices and offer gimmicky "free gifts". Nothing is free. At Iworld, we provide only what the customer wants – fast reliable access – and no more. | Iworld sources from amongst world class carriers like SingTel, MCI-Worldcom, and 1-Net (SingaporeONE) to provide the best in class local and international internet backbone connectivity. Local ADSL, leased-line and ATM last-mile connectivities are provided by SingTel and other FBOs under a wholesale arrangement to Iworld. | All Internet Service Providers licensed by IDA are required to conform to IDA’s stringent link-quality performance standards. Iworld exceeds IDA’s link quality performance standards. Typically, our customers can expect better than 99.5% availability, less than 1% packet-loss and Singapore-US packet-delay of less than 250 ms. Service Level Guarantees are provided for our Leased-line Access customers. | Iworld operates a technical support helpdesk (9AM-6PM, Mon-Fri except Public Holidays) to assist customers with connectivity difficulties, and to track and ensure that our customers enjoy the highest link availability. Separately priced Premium Technical Support is available for customers who require more than our basic technical support. | IworldAccess is an Internet connectivity provider. Our primary objective is to provide the fastest connectivity at the lowest prices to businesses. Iworld works with many value-added partners to offer more sophisticated or supplementary Internet products and services. Our tight focus allows us to be lean and very efficient, and this translates to the best prices for you, our customers and partners. | IWorld provides internet access services via ADSL, leased-lines and ATM, at bandwidths spanning from 512kbps (adsl) to 1 Mbps (leased-line) to 45 Mbps (ATM). IWorld also provides domain registration services for .COM, .NET and .ORG domains at very very low cost (less than $20 per year) – so that everyone of its customers can afford to have an online presence. IWorld does NOT provide email or webhosting services, or VPN services directly. Customer may acquire these services from any of iWorld's large numbers of Value-Added Resellers. | This minimum subscription period is imposed by the provider of the copper line for ADSL. Iworld has to pay for the entire minimum subscription period even if the ADSL service is terminated before the end of the 24 months period. Iworld suffers a loss when this happens, and for most ISPs this loss is borne by good subscribers who honour the minimum subscription period, in the form of higher prices. Iworld feels strongly that this is unfair. At Iworld, our customers enjoy the lowest prices. Good customers do not subsidize errant customers. | At Iworld customers are required to sign the 24 months minimum subscription period contract, and pay the subscription fees for the 7th to 24th month upfront. Should the customer fails to honour his 24-months minimum subscription contract, the 7th-24ths month subscription fees collected is paid to the telephone-line provider for early termination. If Iworld does not collect this upfront, the loss will have to be borne by the good customers who stick to their 24th month contract in the form of higher subscription prices. This practice allows Iworld to keep errant customers at bay, and give our customers the lowest price in the market. | Customers are billed in advance by iWorld on a monthly basis. Customers have up to 14 days to pay their bills, by cheque or opt for GIRO payment. | | | | | | | | | | |
